Drawings 6-10-13

Cool title huh? Here are two completed portraits I am uploading. I think I am averaging one a week, or at least it feels that way.

I am working on my first female portrait and once I finish her I'm thinking if doing one more (i already have the lady in mind) or*** drawing an animal like my dog or a wolf or something hairy or*** paint a sheet of tattoo flash of bugs.

I miss the instant gratification of painting flash, but drawing portraits doesn't hurt my hand as much. So, its a toss up. Maybe I can keep a portrait going and work on the sheet during the same week.

Less thinking...more doing.

So here is the completed Swan from The Warriors (why in the fuck Hollywood feels the need to remake this movie is beyond me...I will NOT even acknowledge a remake...stick with the O.G.)

Then there's Clint. Mr Eastwood if you please. From one of the Dollars movies.

And then Westley from the Princess Bride <3 sigh. Ok . Cary Ewles if you prefer but I prefer Westley or The Man in Black.

I have an entire folder on my laptop of people I want to draw. I want to try painting a few, using hatching/cross hatching, and a few different techniques and mediums to really get the hang of this. It's so different from tattooing for me but changing the way I look at images and shapes, so I'm enjoying it, for sho.

what a mouthful. thats what she said. things have been busy as hell at the studio as of late and I havent had much time to do many paintings. Im still catching up on some scragglers (drawings I need to get done) to be completely caught up from my Sick Week of WTF. Heavy Heart Mandala Book Volume 1 - preview and sneak peeks

    Heavy Heart Volume 1 (pink cover) the first is a mandala coloring book I released in June 2017. It took abut a year and a half to get the first one published. Beginning in January 2015, I started creating the majority of the designs back then. Many of which are influenced by stained glass, art nouveau patterns, sculpture and jewelry. Initially I wanted to publish a "how to" guide on making your own mandala - since all of the early designs were hand drawn, using a template I made.  I also had lots of ideas on exactly how I wanted the book designed; I wanted pages that were easy to tear out, thick paper that would hold up under watercolor and some other features. Due to the production costs however, it wasn't going to be easy, cheap, or affordable. I still want to make a how to guide, its just going to take a little bit longer than I have the patience for at the moment :)    While the idea I began with turned into something else, I couldn't be happier wit

watercolor tattoo flash style - 2 Deadly Sins show submissions

This past month I have really surprised myself, cranking out a painting damn near every other day. Most of them are 4 x 6, I have a couple 5 x 7 and (as of right this moment) 3 8 x 10's. Watercolor makes for quick work, its much much fast than acrylic and I really enjoy it. I can finish something instead of walking away from it and taking a break, which I hate doing. The process is like tattooing in the sense that you have the rough draft, the outline, and fill in. It feels really natural too. I dig it. With the 7 Deadly Sins artshow coming up at the studio I didnt think I was going to have much to contribute. then came this...new thing I fell in love with. I hope its not a passing phase because I asked for another set of inks and some fancy 'spensive watercolor paper for my birthday.
